IHPC Mentor Coaching Program
Prerequisite: Level I: Foundations of Integrated Helping Professional Coaching and Level II: Advanced Tools for Integrated Helping Professional Coaching (30 Hours) or ACC-level ICF certification
The IHPC Mentor Coaching Program offers a supportive and rigorous environment for helping professionals to refine their coaching skills, build confidence, and prepare for ICF credentialing. Aligned with the International Coaching Federation’s (ICF) definition of Mentor Coaching, “coaching and feedback in a collaborative, appreciative and dialogued process based on an observed or recorded coaching session,” this program is designed to help coaches grow through meaningful reflection and skill development.
Mentor Coaching takes place over a three-month period and includes seven weekly group sessions followed by three individual one-on-one mentor coaching sessions (each one hour in length). In group sessions, participants engage in coaching demonstrations, give and receive structured feedback, and build a sense of community with their peers. Individual sessions offer personalized support, with a detailed review of recorded coaching sessions and targeted feedback aligned with the ICF Core Competencies.
Participants who complete the Mentor Coaching Program will be able to:
- Self-assess their coaching skills using the ICF Core Competency framework
- Accurately assess and provide feedback on the coaching skills of others
- Apply a broader range of coaching tools to support client insight and goal attainment
- Demonstrate coaching skills consistent with the Professional Certified Coach (PCC) level of proficiency
This program fulfills the 10 hours of mentor coaching required by the ICF for ACC and PCC credentialing through the Portfolio Path and other application routes.
