Level I: Foundations of Integrated Helping Professional Coaching

Level I of the IHPC training equips helping professionals with the foundational knowledge, skills, and ethical grounding to integrate coaching into their practice. Participants learn to create Relational Presence (RELATE) and guide sessions with Intentional Structure, utilizing the TOP and GIFT frameworks, with coaching tools woven in between to create a space for Spacious Exploration with clients and groups. 

Throughout Level I, participants practice two foundational coaching tools, powerful questioning and values alignment, to help clients uncover insights, clarify what truly matters, and take meaningful, values-driven action.

Curriculum highlights include:

  • Grounding in ethical coaching practice and professional expectations
  • Cultivating Relational Presence (RELATE) to foster trust, connection, and authentic dialogue
  • Guiding sessions with Intentional Structure, combining TOP and GIFT frameworks with coaching tools
  • Practicing intentional coaching tools, such as powerful questioning and values alignment, to create space for client insights and meaningful conversation
  • Engaging in cycles of demonstration, practice, and feedback to strengthen coaching skills
  • Developing self-coaching and reflective practices to support ongoing professional growth
  • Exploring steps for pursuing credentialing with the International Coaching Federation (ICF) 

Level I is designed for individuals starting their coaching journey or seeking to integrate a coaching mindset into their existing professional practice. Upon completion, participants are certified as a Level I Integrated Helping Professional Coach, ready to begin logging coaching hours toward the ICF ACC credential within their professional scope of practice. They are also prepared to continue into IHPC Level II, which completes the educational requirements for the ICF ACC-Portfolio Path and supports deeper mastery and integration.
